Information seminar "New period - new opportunities for the development of cross-border cooperation between Republic of Bulgaria and Republic of Macedonia" took place in Sandanski

On February 25, 2015 in a crowded conference hall of Interhotel "Sandanski” in Sandanski in the presence of over 200 representatives of potential beneficiaries of the whole border region: regional administrations, regional structures of central government, mayors, municipal governments, cultural and educational institutions, NGOs, chambers of commerce and associations from Bulgaria and Macedonia held info seminar "New period - new opportunities for the development of cross-border cooperation between Republic of Bulgaria and Republic of Macedonia".

The seminar was opened by Mrs. Denitsa Nikolova, Deputy Minister of Regional Development and Public Works of the Republic of Bulgaria and guests welcomed the Governor of district Blagoevgrad Biser Mihailov, Deputy Mayor of Sandanski Mladen Timchev, and representative of parliamentary Committee on European Affairs and European Funds Control Sotir Galbov.

Potential beneficiaries and stakeholders from cross-border region through presentations of experts were informed with the program objectives, measures, the budget and the mechanism for the collection and evaluation of project proposals on the period 2014 - 2020 were also explained the conditions for application-related eligibility of applicants, their legal status and registration, the need for partnerships between organizations from both sides of the border and cross-border effects of projects. In separate presentations were presented examples of successful projects, good cooperation and results achieved during the period 2007-2013, new visualization of Programme for the period 2014-2020 and the calendar of events for 2015.
